    We thought that starting a blog would be the best way to share green ideas, easy living tips, & personal stories. We also think it’s the perfect opportunity  for us to connect with the green community & share with readers a bit more about who we are & what we do. It’s a good starting point for our first post.

     

    WHO WE ARE
    We’re juja&stone, a green business that creates eco-friendly, fashionable handbags, by hand. Our names are stina diane & tami elizabeth, & we’ve been best friends since high school. Our dreams have always been to design & own our or business. We run J&S entirely out of our homes & with the help of some friends.  We try to makes the greenest choices possible, when it comes to our company. But just like many of you out there, we too, are still learning about the many ways we can live green. We thought that we could share with you the information we find from books, the internet, friends, & personal accounts on how to make more eco-friendly decisions.

     

    HOW WE WORK

    When you buy something from juja&stone, you can be sure that everything we create is made from at least 75% post-consumer recycled materials. Bags are made from donations &  recycled fabric. That’s right,  we take bags of old clothing. The t-shirts are perfect for making fabric flowers, & old jeans make good handles & help give structure to a bag. We also buy unwanted bolts of fabric from personal sellers & local businesses.  We personally go through every bag of donations & pick out what we can use. Everything that we cannot recycle into a handbag, we donate to the local salvation army. This way we are giving back to the community. Our tags are personally handwritten on recycled paper bag, & our business cards are printed with soy ink on recycled paper. We want to share with you the knowledge we acquire along our journey to become more green. We are open to new ideas & tips, networking with other companies, & anything else that can help us along the way. You can always talk to us at bags@jujaandstone.com.
